Gaston Choral Society 50th Anniversary Concert

The Gaston Choral Society is proud to be approaching our 50th anniversary and are preparing a concert to honor our past and secure our future as a fine arts organization.  Join us for an evening of memories and beautiful music in this RSVP event with reception to follow.  Our concerts are always open to the public and we are pleased to present it as a free event.  Donations will be graciously accepted but never expected.  Past members are encouraged to visit http://bit.ly/2FrdaTr to ensure inclusion.  All others should email gastonchoralsociety@gmail.com to receive more event information.

Fall 2016 New Member Auditions

Gaston Choral Society audition requirements:

  • one verse of My Country Tis of Thee, a cappella
  • Latin excerpt to speak: "Sancte Deus, sancte fortis, sancte et misericors Salvator, amarae morti ne tradas nos."
  • prepared piece of your choice (optional) 
  • short choral vocalizing exercise

While the prepared piece is optional, if you choose to do one, please bring a copy for the accompanist. Also, if you know of a specific time between 6:30 and 8:30 that suits you, please send us an email. Prepare to arrive at least 5 min before your audition to fill out an information sheet.

Spring 2016 Auditions

Interested in singing with the Choral Society? Our next auditions are this Thursday. You don't need to prepare anything for an audition—just come prepared to sing with us for 15 to 20 minutes. Our director will take you through various singing exercises, which are usually a combination of warm-ups and sight reading.
